This company of 21 dancers from Minas Gerais combines classical ballet and modern African dance;invigorating and very Brasilian!

Choreographer Rodrigo Pederneiras presents, Ima, with the music of a new generation of Brasilian musicians ;the trio of Moreno Veloso (son of Caetano) Domenico Lanellotti and Kassin. They combine bossa nova with an interesting mix of percussion and electronic beats.

fun fact:

Grupo Corpo was founded in 1975 ,Belo Horizonte,by six siblings and a half a dozen friends. Today Rodrigo Penderneiras is the choreographer,brother Paulo is the artistic director and sister Miriam helps run the dance school and company.

This is a beautiful exhibit and extraordinarily well presented! The 92 yr old Bahian artist,known as Mestre Didi,has over 50 spectacular sculptures on display. Made of palm leaves,reeds,leather,shells and beads the artist transforms these materials into contemporary art.

This museum is a great place to take out of town guests! Enjoy a nice walk in the park,visit the museum and finish with a coffee or a refreshing agua de coco in one of the two outdoor coffee shops.

The MAM invited the Campana Brothers,celebrated Brazilian industrial designers,to put this exhibit together using the museums collection.Resulting in this youthful an interactive exhibit seen through the eyes of two creators of utilitarian objects.

Sao Paulo natives,Humberto and Fernando designed the Vermelha chair in 1993 made of 500 meters of rope!
